The Indonesian National Police (Polri) recently carried out a significant reshuffle, with 473 personnel, including high-ranking officials, being moved to different departments and regions. The reshuffle was authorized by the Chief of Police General Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, with four telegrams being issued for this purpose.
According to Kepala Divisi Humas Polri Irjen Pol. Dedi Prasetyo, the reshuffle was carried out on March 27, 2023, and included the transfer of Kepala Polda Metro Jaya Irjen Pol. Fadil Imran. Imran was reassigned as the Head of the Polri Security Maintenance Agency (Kabaharkam) to replace Irjen Pol. Arief Sulistyanto, who had reached the retirement age.
In the same telegraph, Irjen Pol. Karyoto was appointed as the new Head of the Jakarta Metro Police after serving as a senior official (Pati) at Bareskrim Polri tasked with fighting corruption with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). Former Bogor Regency and City Police Chief, Brigjen Pol. Suyudi Ario Seto was appointed as the new Deputy Head of the Jakarta Metro Police.
There were several other high-ranking officials transferred to other regions, including Irjen Pol. Rycko Amelza Daniel, who was transferred from Kepala Lemdiklat Polri to become the Deputy Head of Densus 88 (Special Detachment 88) Antiterrorism Polri. Meanwhile, Irjen Pol. Purwadi Arianto was appointed as the new Head of Lemdiklat Polri.
The reshuffle saw seven regional police chiefs, three senior officials of Mabes Polri, 77 personnel undergoing a refreshment course, 72 personnel undergoing Advanced Leadership Development Education and Training (Dikbangpimti), 88 personnel taking part in Dikbangpimti, 11 personnel assigned to special duties, 36 personnel retiring, and three personnel being assigned to evaluation positions.
The reshuffle was carried out to improve the effectiveness of the police department in combating crime and maintaining security in the country. The police department intends to achieve this goal by matching personnel’s skills and expertise with suitable posts and by carrying out regular evaluations and reassignments.
The reshuffle also takes into account the performance and achievements of officers, ensuring that those with exceptional results are given the opportunity to rise in ranks and take on greater responsibilities.
The reshuffle is expected to bring new insights, ideas and energy to the department and ensure that the police are ready to tackle any challenges effectively, ensuring the safety of people and the country.
