He explained that those who pass through the port generally travel from Sumatra Island to Java. Up to now, the number of passengers crossing from there to Merak Port, Banten Province, has been increasing. Based on the data of the last 12 hours at the ASDP Branch Bakauheni Post, the number of passengers crossing was 15,778 people, while the number of vehicles was 3,986 units.
Out of the 15,778 passengers, there were 2,085 pedestrians and 13,693 passengers inside vehicles, while out of the 3,986 vehicles, there were 1,506 two-wheeled vehicles, 3,238 four-wheeled vehicles, 56 buses, and 183 trucks. He advised ferry users to buy Ferizy tickets well in advance and to increase vigilance and health during the journey to their destination.
“We urge potential holidaymakers from Sumatra to Java and vice versa who will be using ASDP ferry services to buy tickets well in advance. We also urge holidaymakers planning long journeys back to their hometowns to always maintain their health and follow the instructions of our officers in the field,” he said.
